Natalie Portman says she's done with nude scenes

In an interview with WENN, geek-lust queen Natalie Portman has said she's done with nude scenes (at least for now) because so much focus is placed on the nudity at the expense of the film:

She tells WENN, "It really depressed me that half of every review on the film was about the nudity. It made me think I shouldn't have done it."

"I'm not prudish about nudity. I think it's beautiful in films, and sex is such a big part of life. My issue is that I feel it takes something away from what you're doing when the focus is put on the wrong thing.

Also she feels like her scenes always end up as screen grabs on web sites. Really? Wow...she is right! :-)

She's right though, people spend too much time perving over every little bit of screen nudity...

Heather Graham is a bit nipply at Hangover premiere

We've read a bit of criticism of what Heather Graham wasn't wearing at the recent U.K. premiere of "Hangover" (namely she left her bra at home). Seriously, she looks great, what's the big deal? Anything she would have worn under that slinky dress would have looked tacky, it's better that she was bare under there. All the people who are "OMG, you can see her nipples" need to grow up...everybody's got 'em, so you can't say you've never seen one before.

Mary-Louise Parker still bitter about nude scene

Mary-Lousie Parker, an actress known for her roles on "The West Wing", "Fried Green Tomatoes", and "Weeds" is supposedly still upset that a director convinced her to do a nude bathtub scene in Weeds (season 4). She's done other nudity and sex scenes but in this instance felt that she was just exposing her big nipples gratuitously. The director felt that the scene was central to conveying the idea of the character being vulnerable and stripped (literally) of emotions at that point in the story.

See Weeds Season 4 on DVD!

We did a quick survey around the office of those that saw the scene and the most felt that the scene was appropriate and respectful. The guys also seemed to concur that she had nice nipples and there was nothing to be ashamed of. :-)

Dita Von Teese at the Eurovision Song Contest

Modern-day retro pinup queen Dita Von Teese is causing quite a buzz around her upcoming performance in the Eurovision Song Contest. She's dancing along to the German entry "Miss Kiss Kiss Bang", and the photos leaked of the rehearsal show her in a very jaw-dropping costume. The curvy Ms. Von Teese is wearing a skimpy full-body corset with structured bra cups that don't come close to covering her ample breasts. This seems to be quite calculated as she's wearing sparkly diamond-covered "pasties" over her nipples to preserve (a little) bit of her modesty.

People are going to be talking about THAT performance for a long time, I bet!

All I can say is "wow!". After viewing this commercial I need a hamburger AND a cold shower. Hmm...maybe first a cold shower, and then a hamburger. Either way, watching her take a bite of this big juicy Hardee's burger and then deal with the runaway drops of sauce is rather...inspiring. No doubt this is more calories than she normally consumes in the course of a few days, even during the taping of Top Chef.

Is this commercial actually airing on TV anywhere, or is it considered "too hot" ?

Sewn as one garment, it has the illusion of combining some rediculously low-low-low-rise jeans with a denim string bikini. Thankfully they're sewn together or there'd be serious danger of them just falling off if the woman wearing them sat down!

Smelly Washer Cleaner

Do you have one of those high-efficiency front-loading washers like I do? We love our high efficiency Bosch washer because it doesn't use much water or electricity and does a superb job of cleaning clothes. That one design problem with all these front-loader machines though is that rubber door seal stays wet and if you've ever gotten a whiff of it...funky!!!

That smell is mold and mildew that gathers in there from the moisture. It's not easy to clean, either. I've washed it with some bleach and that helps but it doesn't seem good for the rubber and I don't want to have to pay to replace that seal in a few years. So check this out...Whirlpool makes this stuff called "affresh" that you run thru the machine like detergent and ... no more funk! ;-) No more smelly washer!

This is so awesome...you don't want mold/mildew in your laundry, especially if you are busy and let the clothes sit damp for an hour or more before you get them into the dryer.

The Leg Lamp from A Christmas Story

Right up there as an iconic part of the props from A Christmas Story is that Leg Lamp...you have to giggle a little every time you see one, don't you? :-) "Fra-gee-lay: It must be Italian!" lol

Jean Shepherd was one of my favorite writers when I was a boy, he had a funny show on Public TV for a while and I don't know if many people watched it but it was hysterical. I never knew he was responsible for "A Christmas Story" until recently, but it makes sense because that was his kind of humor. Leg lamps, tongues stuck to frozen lamp-posts...yeah, that was classic Jean.

Lego Robot solves Rubiks Cube

This is pretty mind-blowing! The first bit of the movie is a little slow but you'll watch with your jaw dropped as the cube starts getting solved at the end!

Hans Andersson built this cube-solver using the Lego Mindstorms NXT kit with no extra parts, so if you get the stock retail NXT kit you can build one too! He has all the plans and the program at his web site: http://www.tiltedtwister.com/.

My son has one of these kits and we haven't tried to build one of these yet, but the next weekend day when the weather is not good, we'll be working on building it. These Lego NXT kits are a great educational toy...it's a fun way for kids to learn about engineering, computers, programming and science. You can build all sorts of robots that drive around or just sit in place and do tasks like the Rubiks Cube solver.

Some schools even have a robot competition team based on the Lego Mindstorms NXT called First Lego League and my son does that too...it's a great outlet for kids with creativity and a desire to learn.

Jennifer Aniston Desktop Calendar for 2009 - WOW!

The normally a little subdued Jennifer Anniston is going to be warming up many a desktop in November of 2009...have you need the pre-release shots of her new desktop calendar? She's a pretty woman but we're not used to seeing her expose her...ahem...girls...like this, in a wet dress under a waterfall.

If you know someone who'd like Jennifer in their Christmans stocking, er...I mean Jennifer's CALENDAR in their stocking, you should be able to find it here very soon (if not later today!).

I have to saw, I've always preferred Jenn to Angelina...she's the kind of woman you'd want to settle down with and wake up next to every day of your life. One of her early movies, Office Space, is a cult favorite and she played a really sweet waitress dealing with the infamous "23 pieces of flair".
